Singing during Bathtime!

In case you can't catch it, she's singing "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star". Soooooo hilarious. I have to let you know also, that I let her watch this video over and over again and she thought she was just the funniest thing on the face of the earth. Cutest case of the giggles I've ever seen.

Fun at Silverlake

Keidy and I have finally discovered Silverlake. We have driven past it many times and today since it was soooooo nice out I decided to look up on the web as to whether there were any locations in which we could take Akayla and let her play. Turns out there is and we had the best time. I got her all dressed up in her little swim suit and natually she looked adorable.

She had so much fun! She would run into the water, then run out, then back in again. She was so silly. She even made a few friends, one in which let her borrow a bucket to play with. (note to self, buy akayla beach toys) She was just sooooo cute watching her splash around in the water. I too got to splash around a little. I was in hopes to catching a tan, but it hasn't happened yet. Better luck tomorrow. :-)

Lake Chelan

Sorry I didn't have time earlier this week to finish the entire story about what we did for our little vacation after our sealing.

You already know about the fun day at the zoo on Thursday that we consider our "family" day. Then Friday Keidy and I pawned Akayla off on my mom and then just the two of us headed to Lake Chelan. It was such a relaxing weekend, we went bowling, miniture golfing and evening swimming. I pushed all of my everyday worries out of my mind and I just relaxed and read books and just enjoyed being in love with my hubby. I can't tell you how needed this really was. We stayed at our Lake view Condo (that we rented) for the entire weekend. On Saturday, Keidy had sneaked out to do some shopping and he came back and suprised me with some sparking cider, which we got to enjoy out of the wine glasses that the condo provided. I always love the romantic feeling when I drink from wine glasses. I don't know what it is about them, even if I'm just drinking water, it just makes me feel special. :-)
We also got to swing by Leavenworth, which Keidy had never been to before, and we enjoyed some window shopping and had lunch there. It was great.
Now we're back in the "real" world,I realize that I must have done a really good job at pushing my everyday worries out of my head because I tell ya, they've all hit me at once like a ton of bricks and I've been sooooo cranky because of it. No worries though, it's a weekend again and the sun is shining, and I've decided that this will be a stay at home vacation this time around. :-)

Family Time

On Thursday, June 19th Keidy and I had decided that since it was the day after our sealing, then we should spend the day together as a family. Keidy really wanted to take Akayla to the Aquarium and I really wanted to take her to the zoo. We compromised and we went to the Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium. It's combined so we figured we hit the jackpot. As soon as we piled out of the car, it began to rain. Go Figure. Lovely WA weather. lol
Akayla absolutely loved the seahorses. She also loved seeing the elephant, tiger and monkeys. There weren't too many animals out since the weather wasn't the best. But she really enjoyed it. Afterwards the sun began to shine and we were able to enjoy some ice cream. Akayla's first "big girl" ice cream cone. Messy Messy, but she didn't do as bad as I thought.

Famlies can be together forever

Families are Forever

So this past week has been absolutely amazing. On Saturday, the hubby and I got to take out our endowments. I can honestly admit that it was a little different but not too weird. The spirit in the temple helps to ease any uncertainties. Then on Tuesday my future sister-in-law went to take out her endowments, so I got to attend her session as well. And of course yesterday, Wed. the Colon Family offical became a family for time and all eternity. I tried really hard to focus on what the sealer was saying and to try not to make too much eye contact with the hubby because I knew I'd be a cryer. I did good!! :-) Then Akayla came into the room and my poor friend Michelle had to carry her cause I bought her white dress too long, so Akayla couldn't even walk in it. I should have at least held it up to her before hand but I never had the chance. As Akayla was there with us, I looked at the hubby and his eyes were starting to get watery, it was really sweet. He never shed a tear but I knew that he would if no one was looking. lol I didn't cry but instead just took the oppartonity to give thanks for Heavenly Father. It was an amazing experience and I wouldn't trade it for the world! :-)

New Family Rule

Well, I'll have to admit I've been taken the easy way out when it comes to dealing with Akayla in the evenings after work. I have been doing some "fun" reading online and I've come to the conclusion that Akayla watches way too much TV. It's sad when as soon as she gets home after we pick her of from school and the first thing she asks for is to watch Shrek (her favorite movie). Time to draw the line! Our new family rule is no TV until 7:00. I know that it still sounds early, but it's a start and maybe/hopefully it will adjust to 8:00 (which is Akayla's quiet time before bed). Last night, she was in a really good mood so I had fun playing with her, she helped me make Jello and then she sat on the counter and played with the waterfaucet in the sink. She would fill and empty random cups and little bowls with water. While she did that, I made dinner. It worked out pretty good. I'll keep ya posted as to how it goes..... or how long it'll last. :-)

Sad Manners!

Ok, I admit that I've been slacking on my updates. I will work on doing better. Akayla has learned a new phrase that I have no idea where she learned it. On Saturday Akayla and I were staying at my mom's while all the boys were gone camping. Akayla was eating her Mac and Cheese, when i asked her to please be careful not to make a mess. She looked at me and with the meanest little voice and said "Shut up, right now!!". Oh my gosh!!! I was so shocked. My mom and I just looked at each other speachless. I have no idea where she learned to say "shut up" like that. We never say that to her. The "right now" part is deffinately something she got from me, I hate to admit it, but it's true. So that's my lovely update for you!
