Big Girl Potty
Ok so Akayla has been working on becomming Potty trained at school and at home. She uses the big potty very well and is now working on pulling up/down her pull up all by herself with no help from mommy or daddy or teachers.
Incase you don't know Akayla too well, one thing about her is she will focus intensely on a certain thing and take it in before she trys it. Example: She will listen to a new song over and over again but won't try to sing along until she is sure that she knows the words.
Soooo.... At school Akayla has been watching the boys go potty. She's been taking it all in and today was the day that she actually tried to go potty like the boys. Unfortunately she's too short to make it into the toilet so therefore there was a lovely mess for her teachers to clean up. Sad day!!!
hahahahahaa

Good Mommy
My Update!
The last two weeks I had been working 10 hr shifts (to cover my day off for trevor's wedding) and hadn't had much time with Akayla. This week I've am back onto my regular schedule. Here is what's been happening in my world. On Monday, when I returned to work, I (and the rest of the Corporate staff) recieved a letter from our CEO in regards as to what is happening with the company and what the future holds. Currently we're not looking so hot because of the drop in the realestate market and banks not dishing out loans as generously. In his letter he states that there will be a few changes in the company, Lay offs and the possiblity of even selling the company. So this got me thinking.... I've already been budget figuring with me going on maternity leave next month, but it occured to me that if they needed to lay someone off in the "corporate office", I may just volunteer. Being a stay at home mommy would be a dream come true for me. After overlooking finances, I doesn't seem too practical and I would at least need to keep working PT, and if my current job would let me do that, it would be perfect. We'll see what happens.
Ok anyways, With this stay at home mommy business it got me thinking that I need to do more "fun" things with Akayla. (NO MOVE MOVIES/TV) So far everyday this week, we have done something out doors and different.
Monday, we went to the library (that was a fun experience) Akayla naturally realized how quite it was in there and figured she'd get the party started with her yelling.
Tuesday, it finally occured to me that there was a flat grassy area in the middle portion of our driveway hill that has been recently constructed. So Akayla and I grabbed the bottles of bubbles and we sat there and blew bubbles for a while. It was fun and relaxing. It also gave me the chance to work on my tan.
Wednesday, I discovered that the Forest Park between Everett and Mukilteo, has a Water Playground. After work I swung by the apt and picked up our swim suits and Akayla and I went and splashed around. It was a perfect day and the water wasn't too freezing. It was nice to spend the time with her. Here she is splashing around. The water totally nailed her in the face. Crack me up!
Today, we will probably do bubbles again on the hill and tomorrow, depending on weather, we'll have to show Keidy the water park. Fun stuff. I've got to admit Akayla has been much happier this week. I think she's really enjoying her mommy time. I want to give her as much of it as I possibly can right now before Baby Shayla comes. :-)

Finally Hitched
My brother and his cute lil' fiance finally got hitched this last weekend (the 11th). The wedding and reception turned out fantastic. My mom pulled off a great lookin Luncheon for everyone, she worked really hard to get it all prepared and the fam did a great job setting it up. It turned out great. (I liked the deserts best) :-)
Akayla got to wear a special princess dress just for the reception that she looked absolutely adorable in. I'll get pictures up as soon as I have access to my mom's camera. She had alot of fun weaving in and out of the reception tables and chairs. Lucky Keidy got to chase her around most of the time, cause frankly, I just can't keep up with her anymore. Akayla got to play with Grandma Fox as well. I brought a fun little project for them to do together. They attempted to make necklaces with yarn and Fruit loops. Unfortunately with so many people around, Akayla got destracted too easily and wouldn't stay put.
All in all, I was sad that my brother was all grown up but so very excited for him. He married a great gal and we have alot of fun with her. She's a great addition to our family.

4th of July 2008
Akayla to this day talks about how she got to do "pop its". She was so cute jumping around on them. I think these things really made her day. Shes so proud of herself for stepping on them. I should have bought a lifetime supply so that she could keep pkaying with them. Fun stuff!!!
