Silly Akayla

Hi everyone, Just wanted to put in a little update featuring my Two year old Akayla. First off, I wanted to say thanks to Grandma Fox for sending up this adorable Birthday hat. Akayla loves wearing it. She's going to wear it to school on her actual birthday (thursday). It's so cute.

Also, Last night Akayla was pulling the cushions off of the couches and she found an unused nursing pad. This smart little cookie knew exactly what to do with it. Crack me up!!!!

Well other than my Silly Akayla doing her thing, all is well Shayla is doing great! She's has already grown to 20 inches and weighs 7 lbs. Such a big girl :-P Her's her latest picture. (I actually took this to scare Keidy. I thought it was funny) She really is cuter than this, I promise!

As for myself, I'm doing much better, I'm officially off work now and I am enjoying my relaxation time. I've actually have given into the "Twilight" excitement that all the LDS women I know have been talking about. Gotta admit I'm hooked! I'm almost done with the first book and I gotta go buy the 2nd one so that I can just keep on readin'.

Keidy is doing great. He's working hard, he's been working a bit of overtime lately which has been helping alot financially since I'm not working as much. I love him for being such a good hubby and dad to the girls.

Well, that's all I have to say for now. Enjoy. Oh by the way here's a cuter pic of Shayla. I couldn't leave ya'll thinkin that she was that hideous. :-)

Baby Shayla is HERE!!!!

Hi everyone!! Our beautiful baby girl has officially arrived. She is sweeter than ever and we couldn't ask for anything better.

Shayla arrived on Tuesday, August 26th, 2008 at 8:13 a.m. via C-Section. Delivery was a piece of cake. No complications at all this time around. Thank goodness. Shayla weighed 6 lbs 12 oz and was 18 1/2 inches long. That puts her 8 oz larger heavier than Akayla and a half inch longer as well. We're in hopes that it's a good sign that she may not have the brittle bone disease like her mommy or sister. Shayla will be tested for that when she is 3 wks old.

Akayla has adjusted to her pretty well. Each day she is getting better and better with wanting to be around baby Shayla. On the arrival day, Akayla wasn't too sure about it and did not want to really be too close to her although she was curious. On Wednesday Akayla came to visit and this time she asked to hold baby Shayla which was sweet. Thursday, she didn't see Shayla very much since we got home from the hospital late. Friday, Akayla would ask to hold baby Shayla and she would sing the Shayla. Shayla really did enjoy having her sister sing to her. She would stop fussing and would listen to Akayla. Saturday and Sunday, we've been having a tough time getting Akayla to leave Shayla alone. Shayla has a bouncer that she sits/sleeps in and we have been needing to keep an eye on Akayla because she will come in front of Shayla and try to give her a kiss while in the process she'd be putting all of her body weight on top of Shayla. We're working on having Akayla approach Shayla from the side of the bouncer which would allow Akayla to place her body weight on the actual Bouncer itself instead of the baby.

As for Keidy and I, we are working really hard at making sure to balance the two girls. So far I'd say we're doing a pretty good job. Keidy is loving little Shayla and has realized how fast his Akayla grew up that now he doesn't want to miss anything with little Shayla. He's enjoying holding her as much as possible. As for me, I'm in pain, loving the medication (even though I hate swollowing pills), and am overall loving both girls differently but equally. Our little family feels complete even though it may not be officially done growing.

Colon Fam Update

Hi ya, I'm sorry that I haven't posted anything in a little while, I've been resting a lot and have been trying to get last minute things done before our new addition arrives on Tuesday. Yes, that's right, Tuesday!!! We are scheduled for the Operation room at 7:30 am and have to be at the hospital at 5:30 am. I figured, why wait all do to have this baby, I made it a first thing priority for the day! :-) All has been going well for the Colon family. Keidy is calm and cool about having the new addition arrive so soon. Akayla is beyond excited for Shayla to arrive. She calls the baby "my baby shayla", its cute. Me, well, I'm sort of freaking out. I thought it would be easier the second time around since I know what to expect and all but to be honest, I'm more nervous than anything. I keep worrying that Akayla is not going to get enough attention and will have negative feelings toward Shayla. Today I tried to make it a fun day with Akayla.I painted her nails (fingernails are purple and toenails are hot pink) she got to pick the colors.

We read stories together, I even attempted to teach her how to play Candy Land. It didn't go over as well as I had hoped, but overall it was a nice day together. Inbetween I also rested alot, I don't think she was very happy with that portion at all. But she got over it. I think she had a pretty fun mommy day.

Well that is our family update for now. I will have more posted as soon as I'm home from the hospital which should be either Thursday or Friday!!

My Prego Update

Well I went to my dr. appt today and he says that it's time for me to be off of work. I'm totally stoked about it. Only problem is, is that I was hoping to make a few extra bucks this week to cover this months expenses. I think I'll just finish off the week doing half days and then head home and put my feet up. Of course by the time I get home, I'll need to pick up Akayla and naturally she'll want to play and then it'll be more work at home then it is at my actually job. LOL go figure. :-) Can't win. LOL

So that's my update. Other than that baby looks good. Good chance that it may not have O.I. but we won't know for sure until the baby is about 3 weeks old.

Love ya'll.
